11-30-08       Just got off the phone with Sandy and the Doctors have said that there is nothing more they can do for Ken's mother. Their suggestion was possibly a hospice until she passes. The Doctors could not give any kind of time line on how much longer she has. The family has to figure out where to put her and possibly transfer her on Tuesday or Wednesday.

11-28-08       Ok, the latest updates on Ken's mother.  I spoke with Ken at 3:15 this afternoon and he told me that when they were prepping his mother for a procedure this morning, they gave her some morphine and shortly after it appeared a blood clot had come loose and lodged in her brain.  The procedure was cancelled, she was returned to her room and the doctors told Ken it might be a good time to get all the family together because they didn't know how much longer she might live.  At that time he said it could be 1 hour, 1 day, or a few days, nobody knew for sure.

Ken called me again at 4:15 and said that he and Sandy had gone down to the cafeteria to get something to eat when his sister called him and said they needed to return to the room, Ken said he thought that his mother had died.  She said no, that she was sitting up in the bed talking, wearing a tiara and waving the sponge stick around talking to everyone.  She even wanted to know how old her doctor was because she thought he was hot!

So..................your guess is as good as theirs as to what happened and what is going on.  Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers and as soon as anymore information comes in, I will send it out.

I will get information on the hospital out to everyone shortly.  She is in Temple at Scott and White Memorial Hospital.  No room number at this time.

UPDATE

Funeral Arrangements for Ozro Henderson: Viewing is 6-9 tonight, Friday night, Novermber 21st, at Dalton and sons in Lewisville.  Funeral is at 3 on Saturday, November 22nd, at First Baptist church at 1251 Valley Ridge in Lewisville.

TX 21's Serena Henderson lost her father today after suffering a massive stroke on Tuesday the 12th. The information below from Serena and explains what happened. This was sudden and unexpected.

Dad taught his paramedic class on Tuesday and went home to rest before our DMAT meeting.  His wife came home 2 hours after he did and found him on the floor.  Not sure how long he'd been there.  He was combative and non responsive.  He was Careflited from the house to big Baylor.  His blood pressure was 255/170.

They determined that he had a massive left side stroke that has effected his speech, congative skills, short term memory and reasoning skills.

Dad worked out daily and did cardio.  He had a clot that formed in his heart, broke loose and landed in his brain.  No medical history to speak of.  He did test positive for MRSA and we have to gown, glove and mask up to see him. This was totally unexpected.

Serena's father died early this morning as a result of that massive stroke. He was only 67 years old. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. As soon as we know the funeral arrangements I will post them here on the web site. You can send Serena emails at: serena277@sbcglobal.net
