Sergeant Dale C. Cram, is the son of our very oun Texas 21, Sgt. of Arms, retired Lieutenant, Ray Cram. His son Dale, joined the United States Marine Corps in October of 1998. He attended the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, in San Diego, California for his 13 weeks of Basic Training. Pvt. Cram graduated as his Company's "Top Shooter" and was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class.Pfc. Cram then attended 6 weeks of Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California. After graduation, Pfc. Cram was sent to Camp Johnson, North Carolina for his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training, as a Motor Transport Mechanic.
Pfc. Cram's first duty station was at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, and later to the rank of Corporal. In 2002, after completing extensive field training events, Cpl. Cram was transferred to the Marine Air Control Squadron 4, located in Iwakuni, Japan. During this assignment Cpl. Cram was deployed to Iraq, to Uzbekistan, and later to Afghanistan. Cpl. Cram subsequently received the Marine Corps Achievement Medal for Superior Performance while under deployment, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In 2004, Sgt. Cram requested, and was accepted to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California for "Recruiting Officers Training School. Upon successful completion of said training, Sgt. Cram was assigned to Searcy, Arkansas. During this tenure, Sgt. Cram received numerous awards for superior performance and achievements. He was also recognized as one of the Marine Corps Top 10 Recruiters in the nation.
In 2007, Sgt. Cram requested and was assigned to the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion (MSOB), located at Camp Pendleton, California. While in that assignment, Sgt. Cram was the on-sight supervisor, in charge of the battalions entire Motor Pool Operations. Sgt. Cram further completed additional MSOB Combat Training in Hawthorne, Nevada. Sgt. Cram was then deployed to his fourth and final combat mission, to Afghanistan.
Upon his return from Afghanistan, and after serving 4 tours of combat, and having served a total of twelve years of service, Sergeant Cram opted to accepted his well earned "Honorable Discharge" in October, 2010. Sgt. Cram is currently working for Pioneer Natural Resources, in Midland, Texas, as an Oil Rig Inspector.
